Sometimes when our hearts are breaking, we tend to run away instead of running to The One who can make it all better. The thing about God is, that He is real. He is real and He knows us; so therefore He wants us to be real too. He knows everything that we don’t say and we don’t show. When we are heartbroken there are several ways for us to pray.
Here Are 3 Things To Pray For:
- To draw closer to God– The Bible says if we draw nigh unto God, He will draw nigh unto us. (James 4:8). He already promises to be near the broken in heart. (Ps.34:15)
- Giving it over to God– One of the hardest things for our flesh is giving over control. Fear drives the need for control. As we learn to release our hurts, and our worries- then we can learn to live free from the burden. It’s a hard thing to do. Sometimes the hardest, yet greatest thing to do is surrender. When we stop working, God will then begin to do what we couldn’t do on our own. Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
- Tears in a bottle– God is so loving that no matter what we go through, it is never wasted. God will use anything we have to bring Him glory and to bless us. He is so sweet like that. He promises that He keeps our tears in a bottle. (Ps. 56:8-9) In “Visions from Heaven” by Wendy Alec-she mentions about a vision she had. In the vision, Jesus showed her the bottle with her tears in it. Then afterwards, He showed her an even bigger bottle and it was His tears that He shed for her.
When we put into perspective that He feels what we feel; we can know that we’re never alone.
