There are a lot of people sharing their stories of dying and then going to either heaven or hell and then returning back to earth. Some people, like Tamara Laroux claim to have experienced both heaven and hell. Laroux has shared her testimony on television and all over the world. She says that while in a state of pain and desperation, she aimed a gun directly at her heart and shot herself. It was her hope that the gun would send her straight to eternity. But what she says actually happened has some people questioning whether or not she is telling the truth.

Many theologians say that it is impossible to visit heaven or hell. According to them, the Bible states that once someone goes to hell, there is no escape. Many people who claim to have gone to heaven and come back to earth talk about seeing a blinding white light and experience a wonderful sense of comfort and peace. They say it is just like what the Bible says it is in Revelation 21:4, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Some scientists, however, argue that when this happens, they aren’t really experiencing heaven. Instead, these near death experiences can be one of many things, or a combination of events, such as spikes in brain activity or a lack of oxygen to the brain, which can induce hallucinations.

For those who say they have actually experienced heaven or hell, it is a very powerful and life-changing experience. Oftentimes, it causes them to rethink their purpose in life and because they have a better understanding of what heaven and hell is like, they are more compelled to share the gospel message in the hopes that all who die will experience heaven for themselves.
